Projecting The Starters - Baltimore Ravens 2013 Season

Ozzie Newsome
It’s no secret that Ozzie Newsome has steadily and successfully built a winning atmosphere in Baltimore. Coming off a Super Bowl season, Baltimore is primed to become the first repeat champions since the Patriots in 2003 and 2004. With numerous new faces on both sides of the ball, here’s a look at what I project to be the starters for the upcoming campaign.

Ravens Roster - Who Needs To Step Up?

After re-shuffling the roster this off-season, the Ravens were dealt a tough hand losing Dennis Pitta for the season with a dislocated hip. Ozzie Newsome continued his usual wizardry, filling the void quickly with Visanthe Shiancoe, who spent his previous years with the Vikings and Patriots.

Newsome's focus was on the defensive side of the football this off-season, with numerous quality  acquisitions and talented draft picks. Despite the fresh faces, some of the homegrown talent needs to up their efforts and help bolster this Ravens squad. Baltimore is looking to become the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions since the Patriots in 03’ and 04’. Here's a look at three vets who need to step up their game this season.

Today at 7:45pm EST, the Baltimore Ravens will be holding a ring ceremony to commemorate their 2012 Super Bowl victory. Adam Schefter decided to give the NFL world a sneak preview, posting this image early this afternoon. Gathering an early reaction from Ravens fans, it seems they prefer the older ring as opposed to the new one. What's your thoughts? There has been some small chatter on Twitter that the new ring could perhaps be a fake, as the franchise was expected to have a formal ring ceremony to show off their new bling. I guess only time will tell.

Following their Super Bowl victory, the Baltimore Ravens visited the white house on Wednesday. After the team got a tour of the building, Barack Obama spoke to the large assembly of people outside. Here is Ravens coach John Harbaugh presenting the president with his championship jersey. I wonder if Vonta Leach minds sharing a number?

With Baltimore celebrating their memorable Super Bowl 47 victory on Wednesday at the White House, the Ravens will undoubtedly be rejoicing in one last celebration before they get back to work. As much as they would like to bask in their victorious glory all off-season, reality permits otherwise. Here are 5 things that need to happen in order for the Ravens to repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

The Case For Flacco Being Elite

After the 2011 season Joe Flacco publicly announced that he believed that he was the best quarterback in the NFL. This, in essence, was the true beginning of the "is Joe Flacco and elite quarterback" debate league wide. While Flacco has never had the rep of being outspoken, he has always been very confident in his abilities.

Who's Done What? AFC North Off-Season Moves

AFC North Off-Season Moves

Fans would argue that the beginning of the off-season wasn't exactly what Ravens fans had hoped. After Ray Lewis & Matt Birk retired, Anquan Boldin was dealt for a 6th round pick and Bernard Pollard was a cap casualty. Free agency was no different as departures included Dannell Ellerbe, Paul Kruger, Cary Williams, and of course future first ballot Hall of Famer Ed Reed.

Dennis Pitta By The Numbers - 2010 NFL Draft

Dennis Pitta
Following my post on Torrey Smith's potential counterparts for the upcoming season, I'd like to take a look at another player who could potentially step up into a larger receiving role. Dennis Pitta has quietly built himself quite the name over the past season, which concluded with a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

Who's Going To Step Up Opposite Smith?

It seems this years Ravens wide receivers are a completely different group in comparison to last year, when really they've only lost one key peace. There is no question that the loss of Anquan Boldin will sting for the near future, as a guy like that is irreplaceable for what he can do for Cool Joe and his offence.
